Ward

Documentation coming soon

Ward's usage and self-hosting guides have not been written yet; when they are, they will appear on this site. In the meantime, email support@seglamater.com with questions.

What is Ward?

Ward is a guardrail-integrity monitor. If you run AI agents that can deploy code or touch production, Ward continuously proves that the safety gates those agents must pass through are still intact and un-forged.

Its core design principle is courier, not notary: Ward only ever reads and hashes your gate artifacts and compares them against a baseline that you signed with a key Ward never holds. It writes zero changes to any hook, gate, or marker, and it can never mint a signed baseline. An AI running Ward can report drift — it cannot approve away its own guardrails.

Ward is self-hosted, and runs on hardware you control. It is in private alpha today; access is by invitation.

Designed for teams that want:

  • Fail-closed verification. The baseline signature is checked against a pinned public key before any comparison — silence is never treated as clean.
  • A tamper-evident record. Every scan is a ledgered run; a present-or- absent artifact is a finding, not a skip.
  • Operator-held trust. The signing key stays off the machine the AI can read. Ward transports the diff; you remain the notary.

Status

Alpha. The gate-manifest enumerator, canonical hasher, and fail-closed signature-verify + comparator engine are built. The operator sign ceremony and higher-level semantic rules are in progress.
